Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-10-18
This policy explains what Jibon collects, why, where it is kept, and how you control it. Jibon is operated by BDTech Labs. Privacy is a core part of Jibon: we collect only what the app needs to work, we do not sell your data, and we do not show advertising.
1. What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash).
- Profile photo, if you add one.
- What you add to Jibon: tasks, reminders, bills (including amounts and due dates), notes, family members (name, relationship, birthday, notes), and documents (type, name, issue and expiry dates, notes and the files you upload).
- Settings: language, theme, timezone and notification preferences.
- Security data: the name of each device you sign in from, when its session was last used, and your IP address in short-lived server logs. These protect your account and stop abuse (for example, too many login attempts).
Jibon does not collect your contacts, location, call logs, SMS or advertising ID.
2. Why we use it
- To provide Jibon: store your information, keep it in sync between your devices, and remind you about it.
- To send account emails you ask for: sign-up verification codes, password reset codes and account deletion confirmation. We do not send marketing email.
- To keep the service secure and working.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or selling to anyone.
3. Your documents
- Uploaded files are stored on private storage and encrypted at rest. They are never available through a public link.
- A file can only be downloaded by your signed-in account; every request is checked.
- Photos are re-processed when uploaded, which removes hidden metadata such as the GPS location embedded by phone cameras.
- When you delete a document, its files are erased immediately.
- Our staff do not browse your documents. Access to production systems is restricted and only used to operate the service or when required by law.
4. Notifications
Reminders for tasks, reminders, bills, document expiry and birthdays are scheduled on your phone by the app and work without an internet connection. Jibon also creates in-app notifications on our server when a document is about to expire. This version does not use a third-party push notification service. You can turn each type of notification on or off in Settings.
5. Data on your phone
To work offline, Jibon keeps a copy of your information on your device. Your sign-in token is kept in Android's secure, encrypted storage. Signing out removes Jibon's data from the device.
6. Service providers
We use a small number of providers only to run Jibon: a hosting/cloud provider (servers, database and encrypted file storage) and an email delivery provider (to send the codes and confirmations above). They process data only on our instructions.
No analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs are included in this version of the app.
7. Family members' information
Information you add about family members is only used to show it to you. Please add other people's details only when you are entitled to do so.
8. How long we keep data
- Your information is kept while your account exists.
- Items you delete are permanently removed from our database within 30 days (the short delay lets your other devices learn about the deletion). Document files are erased immediately.
- Server logs are kept for up to 14 days.
- Encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days.
9. Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app (More → Settings → Delete account) or on the web at https://jibon.bdtechlabs.com/account/delete. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account, everything you added and all uploaded files are deleted. Backups are overwritten within 30 days. We send one confirmation email to your address afterwards.
10. Security
All connections use HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, document files are encrypted at rest, sessions expire, and access to every item is checked against its owner. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will notify affected users of a breach as required by law.
11. Your choices and rights
You can view, edit and delete your information in the app at any time, change notification settings, and delete your account. For any other request, contact us at [email protected].
12. Children
Jibon is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information as account holders.
13. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
